JIM ELLISON

Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, Running Backs

Coach Ellison was born in Michigan and raised in Arizona, graduating from Scottsdale High School. He then went on to have a twenty-five year career at Motorola. While at Motorola, he obtained a teaching degree in Kinesiology, graduating from ASU in 2002. Coach Ellison came to Arcadia from Chaparral where he was Head J.V. Coach for eight seasons along with being Chaparral's Assistant Varsity Coach. While at Chaparral, he compiled a record of 56-7, which included a 37 game winning streak and four undefeated seasons. Coach Ellison also helped the varsity team win three State Championships in 1999, 2000, and 2002. Previously, he served as the Varsity Offensive Coordinator at Pinnacle High School improving the offensive production from 6.8 points per game to 38 points per game. This will be Coach Ellison's fourth year at Arcadia. In his second season at Arcadia (2009) Coach Ellison led the team to a Regional Championship. Coach Ellison was also named the 2009 Region "Coach of the Year". Coach Ellison is supported by his lovely wife Shari and their five children: Alissa, Martin, Cisco, Joseph, and Kayla.

LENNY ABT

Offensive & Defensive Line, Defensive Coordinator

Coach Abt was born and raised in Long Island, NY. He graduated from Oceanside High School lettering in both football and track & field. He has been coaching football in Arizona for the past 15 years, having spent 10 years at Chaparral and 5 years at Pinnacle. Coach Abt has been married to his lovely wife Debbie for 16 years and has two great kids David 12, and Elizabeth 9. Coach Abt has a Bachelors degree in Physical Education. Coach Abt is a very experienced high school coach and this will be his second year on the Arcadia Varsity Staff.

PAT HURLEY

Tight Ends, Film Coordinator, Defensive Consultant

Coach Hurley has been coaching high school football for 15 years. He played college football at the University of Wyoming where he was a Tight End. Coach Hurley is currently a Math teacher at Pinnacle High School and has been teaching there since the school opened. He is an outstanding football coach and this will be Coach Hurley's second year as a member of the Arcadia coaching staff. Coach Hurley is supported by his lovely wife Jill, his children: 18 year old son Andrew, 12 year old daughter Allison and his 6 year old daughter Abby.

PATRICK BLAKESLEY

Quarterbacks

Coach Blakesley graduated from Kingwood High School in Texas where he was a four year varsity quarterback and a three year starter. He then went on to play for two years at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). Coach Blakesley brings experience and insight to the quarterback position. Coach Blakesley and his wife Laura have two children, Stephen and Jacqueline.This is Coach Blakesley's fourth season at Arcadia.

BRYCE WAWRZNIAK

Defensive Backs, Receivers

Coach Wawrzyniak was born and raised in Arizona. He graduated from Pinnacle High School where he played 4 years of football; 2 years of basketball; 3 years of track; and 1 year of soccer where he helped lead his team to a State Championship. Coach Wawrzyniak will be attending Grand Canyon University to study exercise science with an emphasis on physical therapy. After he obtains his degree, he plans to go to chiropractic school. This is coach Wawrzyniak's second year on Arcadia's Varsity staff.

J.D. DISTOR

Linebackers

Coach Distor was born in Los Angeles, California but moved to Phoenix where he went to school at Pinnacle High school. While at Pinnacle, he played four years of football under coach Hurley and coach Abt. Coach Distor was an outstanding linebacker and received All-Region honors. He will be attending Arizona State University in the fall where he will be pursuing a degree in Kinesiology. This will be Coach Distor's second year as a Varsity coach at Arcadia.
